The Tanne is located in the heart of Wernigerode and served as a rest stop/inn for carters, horse-riding messengers and servants of Wernigerode Castle as early as 1753. Today it is run by the fourth generation, lovingly and family-friendly. During the renovation in 2021-2023, the half-timbering and clay walls were made visible again. The modern and the historical were tastefully brought into harmony, inviting you to linger and relax. The "Tanne" has been visited by many guests and personalities over the years, why not you too? everything was perfect hosts and staff was super helpful breakfast: outstanding (many of the items home made) room very nice. Quiet. spacious. well planned / layed out Hotel is very centrally located, right in the middle of Werningerode in short: zero to complain about. would return every time (and hope to do so soon)

Small, family run hotel on pedestrianised main street of Wernigerode. Hotel is in a traditional half-timber building, but the interior has been recently renovated. Room and bathroom were large and bed was comfortable. Good choice for breakfast and staff were helpful and efficient. Wifi and everything else worked. The room faced away from the street, so it was quiet.

Beautiful building and room, the decor is well considered, quirky and tasteful. The room had a view of the castle! It was just wonderful. We had a great time.

accommodation beautiful, clean, newly renovated. great staff, helpful, kind... beautiful historic town, great trip to Brocken mountain by steam train... and as a bonus the city music festival... really great stay. thank you
